Ferrous vs. non-ferrous scrap: how to sort it correctly

Ferrous scrap (steel, cast iron) contains iron and is attracted to a magnet. Non-ferrous materials—copper, brass, aluminium and austenitic stainless steel—are not.

Sorting by grade (bright copper, burnt copper, brass, aluminium profiles, aluminium sheet) significantly increases the price received upon delivery.
